He said<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThere is nothing on our side that is kind of saying that if a website is revamped, then we must change its ranking &#8230;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For revamps, there are sometimes a few things that come together, and it\u2019s sometimes tricky to figure out exactly what all is happening. But the main thing that I would watch out for when you\u2019re doing a revamp is to make sure:<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That the URLs stay the same as much as possible so that you don\u2019t change the URL structure.<\/span><\/i><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That the internal linking stays the same as much as possible.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That the content and the layout on the pages stay the same as much as possible.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And if those technical elements are essentially aligned, then from our side, the only thing that we see is that maybe the website is a little bit faster now because you\u2019re using a faster infrastructure.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b>Old website vs. Brand new website<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Restructuring and revamping a website can cause disruption in search rankings if Google thinks that the old website doesn\u2019t exist anymore, and the website you now have is basically a brand new website.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What makes Google think that a website is new?
